Description
Airmar has integrated its proven Tilted Element™ and broadband technologies into a leading line of Smart™ Sensors. These low-profile, retractable, thru-hull sensors compute accurate depth and temperature data, sending it directly to any compatible NMEA 2000® display. Operating at a frequency of 235 kHz, these sensors can run simultaneously with other 50/200 kHz transducers on-board without signal interference. The broadband ceramic delivers reliable depth readings to 183m (600′), as well as accurate shallow-water readings in as little as 0.5m (1.6′).
The innovative Tilted Element™ design offsets the hull deadrise by tilting the ceramic element inside the housing. This ensures the transducer beam is oriented straight down, resulting in strong bottom echo returns and precise depth readings without the need for a bulky fairing block. Available in various fixed tilt options and housing materials, these sensors are designed to accommodate a wide range of vessel types and hull materials. The low-profile housings are engineered to maintain hull performance while providing accurate readings at high speeds.
Airmar’s Smart™ Sensors feature embedded microelectronics, where the transducer element and signal processor are located only millimeters apart. This internal processing ensures high-quality data transmission through a single cable to your display. For ease of maintenance, the retractable housing includes a self-closing valve that minimizes water flow into the vessel when the insert is removed for cleaning or service.
